Message of the 27th AFID
Equity: Everyone should have an equal chance to develop their full potential, regardless of race, gender, or social status
Participation is active involvement of individuals in their communities and the decision-making processes that affect their lives.
Well-being comes from feeling connected to a community and realizing one's potential.
Equity is the foundation for participation and well-being. When individuals have equal opportunities to develop their potential, regardless of their background, they feel empowered to participate in shaping their communities. This participation fosters a sense of belonging and personal value, which are essential components of well-being.
In essence, equity, participation, and well-being are interconnected elements that create a virtuous cycle. By promoting equity, we can encourage participation, which in turn leads to well-being. And by prioritizing well-being, we can strengthen participation and advocate for equity.
In accordance with the principles of human rights as outlined by the United Nations, we aim to promote Equity, Participation, and Well-being as the central themes of the 27th AFID."
